EUROSPORT.COM LAUNCHES WAP SITE wap.eurosport.com Paris, September 11, 2000 - eurosport.com launches its WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) site, wap.eurosport.com, on September 14th, enabling WAP phone users to have information from the leading sports destination at their fingertips.
eurosport.com entrusted Webtiss Technologies, with the design and creation of the service including the complete integration into the multi-platform technology. Its confirmed status as an expert in mobile Internet solutions made it a natural choice for this project.
wap.eurosport.com, will available in the following six languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish.
The site will cover four sports: Football, Tennis, Cycling and Formula 1, however it is certainly the special events category, dedicated to the Olympic Games, which will receive the initial attention. WAP phone users will have the opportunity to get the latest news and results direct from Sydney, sport-by-sport, including a medal table and events schedule. In addition, the site will also include a game, as well as a programming guide for Eurosport TV.
eurosport.com has already performed many successful mobility operations using SMS (Short Message System) to keep sports fans up-to-date with the major events. The site will grow, adding coverage of new sports within the next six months.

Webtiss Technologies has developed the site to be accessible through the major WAP phones on the market. The site will also be adapted to be available via Pocket PCs and Personal Assistants by the end of the year.
