EZOS has become part of the WAP Forum family. Brussels, September 19, 2000 - EZOS, an I.T. service provider active in the field of mobile business, has become a full member of the WAP Forum. This therefore places EZOS in a key position for shaping the future integration of mobile solutions into enterprise back office infrastructures, together with other leading IT companies. EZOS has come up with EzWAP, the first platform-independent WAP browser that enables a variety of computing systems to access the mobile Internet environment such as: mobile devices (Pocket PCs, PC companions), embedded systems and PCs running Microsoft Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows CE. Thanks to its modular design, EzWAP can be integrated into virtually any appliance, regardless of its operating system and only requires a minimum amount of software adaptation to be made. WAP navigation software will in fact be able to be integrated into a large range of devices such as telephones and mobile appliances in order to enhance connectivity. "Professionals and consumers alike want to enjoy instant access to information under any circumstances. Becoming an active member of the WAP Forum is a clear indication of our commitment and our skills within this field" says Benoit Huon, R&D Manager at EZOS. As a provider of services and solutions for mobile technologies, EZOS is exploring innovative ways of working closely with equipment manufacturers. "Our aim is to encourage wider dissemination of WAP technology which is currently only available for a very limited number of devices. We want to throw wide open the doors into the WAP universe to any and every platform in order to provide access to, and facilitate the development of, services using this protocol", explains Jean-Claude Streel, Business Development Manager at EZOS. About the WAP Forum The WAP Forum is the industry association that is responsible for developing and fostering the growth of the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) o an open, global standard that allows mobile users of wireless hand-held devices to easily and instantly access and interact with the Internet.
