Nocom and Nokia form partnership in the Nordic region to
provide leading Nokia WAP server technology

Software Solutions, a leader in open WAP server solutions for Internet enabled
enterprises, has named Nocom AB as its primary business development partner in Sweden and
Norway. Nocom AB is the leading value added distributor of Web enabled products and
services in Scandinavia.
WAP, or Wireless Application Protocol, enables corporations, system
integrators and software developers to offer Internet- or Intranet -based information and
services to their customers, business partners and employees through a mobile phone.
The Nokia WAP Server is an open server software platform for mobile
applications and a gateway between the wireless network and the Internet or a company's
internal network. It converts and optimizes information to meet the characteristics of
wireless transport and that of handheld terminals, such as mobile phones. It can retrieve
content from origin servers such as Web servers and other corporate information systems
and deliver it to any WAP-compliant terminal through wireless connections. The Nokia WAP
Server is based on a 100% compliant implementation of the WAP protocol stack, as defined
by the WAP Forum.
